Attentive
Many Papuan families do not have access to books or magazines, nor do they usually read much for pleasure. As a result many children are at a disadvantage when starting and attending school. To encourage reading and an interest in books, group of Papuans formed a Mini-Library. They located the library within a poorer neighborhood in a home that they rented. Catherine was invited to give a little lesson and I captured the rapt attention of this lovely child.
The library was sponsored in part by
Mennonite Central Commitee Global Family.
